Blessed Mom

Saturday was my mama's birthday. I love my mama like my best friend. Sure, we don't always get along but I'm so thankful that I have her in my life. We spent the day shopping and had lunch at the Sante Fe Cattle Co. That place is super yummy! If you have one in your area, I definitely recommend it.

Mama wanted some pics with Aaron and I. I hadn't scrapped in a LONG time so these new pics combined with an unopened kit from Kraft Girls inspired me to do this layout. I am so happy with the way it turned out. I loved working with this Basic Grey Wisteria collection. It is so pretty. I especially love those little bird rub-ons. They are made by October Afternoon. I used a Unity stamp to stamp the journaling spot onto paper from my kit and cut it out and raised it on pop dots. The journaling spot says: "Her children arise up and call her blessed. Prov. 31:28" We are a very blessed family so I thought this verse was perfect. For this layout I used a sketch from Got Sketch.

As always, thanks for looking. I hope everyone has a great week!

Back to School

Summer is over. We officially started school last Thursday. The first two days I just went over rules and procedures and played some games that helped me get to know the kids better. Today, we learned. My classes went so well. I felt like it was my best teaching experience thus far. I felt like the kids were really interested. They paid attention and asked questions and seemed so eager to answer questions that I asked. It was just a really awesome day! I feel like we got so much accomplished and I can't wait to teach them even more tomorrow.

What's the start of a school year without a cute new sign for my door? I stole this idea from a fellow teacher. I put it together in about 5 minutes and it turned out so cute. I want to share it here because I think it would be a great gift idea for a teacher. I'm going to use velcro strips to hang it on my door.

I bought a blank chalkboard from Hobby Lobby. It was very dull so I mod-podged one side of it to give it a litle shine. Also, at HL, they also sell these already painted apples and school buses. I got one of each and hot glued them to the corners. HL makes their own brand of "Thickers." They're cheaper. So, I got a pack of those and used them to put my name on the board. Easy! My door is definitely going to have style now.

I hope everyone enjoys their week!

Blessings,
